On  March 20th, 2024 our director Brad Bohn will be teaching our 8 week  beginning violin course.  There will be two separate group classes taught, one at 4pm and one at 5pm. The maximum size of each class is 8 students.     Registration for this class is Wednesday, March 13th   5pm  in the  TCM Orchestra room, suite 300.  At registration we will measure each student for a violin size as well fill out paperwork and accept payment. The cost of this class is $230. For those that need a violin rental  we rent violins for $30 a month with an initial $50 setup fee. We do not require that you rent a violin from us.  You will also need to purchase a shoulder rest specific to your size violin. We recommend the Kun adjustable shoulder rest from  Amazon for approximately $30.

In our beginning class we teach the  Pascale Method..This amazing method was created by Susan Pascale, the director of the LA Children's Orchestra. This workbook is for ages 5 to 18 years of age and is included with tuition. The young students love the  six pages of stickers and the 30+ videos that help them learn.  By the end of the class students should be able to play the violin with correct technique and be proficient at playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Students of our beginning class will have the opportunity to perform in our spring concert on Friday, May 17th at  7pm at Temecula Valley High School Concert Hall. This concert includes all three of our string orchestras performing on stage. Our Beginning Violin Class students will be the first to perform on stage,  first by themselves and a second time through with our Chamber Orchestra backing them up playing a Symphonic version of Twinkle Twinkle Little star including timpani, bass drum, crashing cymbals and a string orchestra of 30 advanced players.

The concert will constitute the last event of the Beginning Violin Class. Following the concert, for those students that have decided that violin is the instrument for them we highly recommend students begin weekly private lessons with one of our amazing violin teachers at our studio. We also encourage them to  join our TCM Junior Orchestra in August. That is where the fun is ratcheted up  several notches with 50+ other beginning students meeting weekly to make friends, play amazing music and just have fun!. Because the goal after all is to have fun!

Again on  registration day (March 13th at 5:00pm)  parents will fill out billing  paperwork, pay tuition  and for those students that need to rent an instrument we will size them for a violin rental. Violin rentals include a $50 setup fee plus the two months  rent ($60). The tuition is $230 for the 8 week course. The final cost is a "Kun"  shoulder rest ($30) which you can purchase off of Amazon.
