Rehearsal and Concert Protocol

According to Covid-19 Requirements

We know there is still concern regarding the Covid-19 situation.  Because of this we will be setting up the orchestra room and rehearsals where each student is six feet apart from all other students. Also, our policy for orchestra will be the following:

  • Ensemble arrivals will be staggered. Students should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before assigned rehearsal start time and every student must wear a mask. No parents will be permitted in the building per California Department of Public Health venue guidelines.

  • TCM staff will be outside the building entrance (wearing masks) keeping the 6ft distance between students and organizing entry to the building in order to avoid congestion at the door. Staff will take every students temperature. Any student with a temperature or exhibiting COVID symptoms will not be allowed to enter the building.

  • Outside, students will first come to a table for hand sanitation. TCM staff will monitor students’ temperatures etc., during this time.

  • Parents will not be allowed to attend rehearsals but should wait outside in their vehicles.

  • All students and staff will wear masks at all times. Students and staff will keep a 6ft distance from each other.

  • For Symphony there will be one 15-minute break during each orchestra rehearsal and TCM staff will be monitoring students to keep 6ft distance and control bathroom entrance and exit to avoid congestion. No students will be allowed to gather in the studio. Everyone will wear a mask at this time.

  • Every student will bring their own music stand, their own music, and their own pencil. No sharing. No food allowed in rehearsals. Water bottles permitted. We encourage students to carry sanitizing wipes in their instrument case.

  • At the conclusion of rehearsal each ensemble will leave at their appointed time under the direction of TCM staff while wearing masks and keeping the 6ft distance between each student. No students may gather in the studio and students should be picked up promptly at the end of their ensemble rehearsal.

  • No student will be allowed to attend TCM rehearsal if they are sick or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.

  • Students must stay home if they have been in close contact with a person suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19.

  • We encourage frequent hand washing and hand sanitizer will be made available in each rehearsal room.

  • Students should refrain from mixing and mingling with others that are not in their household during rehearsal.

  • Students should maintain 6ft of physical distancing from each other.

  • All students and staff will wear face masks.

  • Populations at higher risk for severe COVID-19 should consider additional protections or stay home during this time per California Department of Public Health.
